PeaZip is a free archiver and file manager utility, based on solid and proven Open Source technology of 7-Zip and other great Open Source tools (like FreeARC, PAQ, UPX...) for supporting additional file formats and features, in order to provide an all purpose zip utility featuring a powerful unified GUI that, unlike most of other classic file archivers like i.e. WinZip and WinRar, is natively portable and cross-platform, being available for Windows, Linux, and BSD. The program features powerful and flexible inclusion/exclusion filters and search tools, provide optional two factor authentication through password and keyfile, and allows to deeply fine tune the task’s definitions, exposing through a single, consistent frontend GUI the options of underlying applications.

Options > Settings, Browser optimization levels improved and optimized to better fit more user cases, generally improving speed on larger archives, and making performances more uniform for different archive types

Archive folders content calculation step is now better matched with browser optimization level

Archive pre-parsing step (TOC verification) is improved for various cases, up to -87% time if archive TOC is not ordered by name, and up to -94% for very large archives over 100Ks items regardless TOC order

Archive treeview rendering step improved, -30% time, and is now better matched with browser optimization level

Various fixes

Fixed auto ask password for encrypted ARC files

Fixed inconsistencies of icons for Bookmarks, Session history, and Tabs

Fixed preserve archive breadcrumb on forced refresh events

Fixed translation of special folders names in Bookmarks

FILE MANAGER

Added Batch test archives function (Test dropdown menu, File manager group) to test multiple archives without interruption (except for asking for password, if needed) reporting success or failure result in the file manager (CRC column)

Improved File manager

(GTK2) enabled virtual mode by default over 16K items

Improved Bookmarks, it is now possible to add Search and Flat view bookmars of filesystem items (previously working only inside archives)

Improved keeping, and focusing, selection on navigation operations

Internal Drag & Drop > Copy to / Move to does no longer change directory, consistently with internal Drag & Drop > Extract functions

Internal Drag & Drop (extract, copy, move) now supports dropping items to the Breadcrumb bar and to the Tab bar

Minor UI revamp

Added alternative icon rendering styles (Native, Sharp, and Soft) in Style "..." menu, File manager submenu, to improve blending the visual aspect of the app on different widgetsets

Improved fractional scaling and zooming

Updated icons and Themes to work consistently in all widgesets

Task progress window caption now shows global progress percentage when running a batch of multiple archiving or extraction tasks

Updated Password Manager UI, and added function to rate password entropy both in Password Manager and in Password Prompt screens.
