  VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Not only is VirtualBox an extremely feature rich, high performance product for enterprise customers, it is also the only professional solution that is freely available as Open Source Software under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2.

Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, Macintosh, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4 and 2.6), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, and OpenBSD.

VirtualBox pertamakali dikembangkan oleh perusahaan Jerman. Pada February 2008, Innotek GmbH diakusisi oleh Sun Microsystems. VM VirtualBox adalah perangkat lunak virtualisasi, yang dapat digunakan untuk mengeksekusi sistem operasi "tambahan" di dalam sistem operasi "utama". Sebagai contoh, jika seseorang mempunyai sistem operasi MS Windows yang terpasang di komputernya, maka seseorang tersebut dapat pula menjalankan sistem operasi lain yang diinginkan di dalam sistem operasi MS Windows.

Fungsi ini sangat penting jika seseorang ingin melakukan ujicoba dan simulasi instalasi suatu sistem tanpa harus kehilangan sistem yang ada. Aplikasi dengan fungsi sejenis VirtualBox lainnya adalah VMware dan Microsoft Virtual PC.

Sistem operasi yang dapat menjalankannya antara lain Linux, Mac OS X, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Solaris, dan OpenSolaris

iOS 7 beta 3 hadir tepat waktu setelah beberapa waktu lalu banyak rumor beredar bahwa sistem operasi ini akan meluncur pada tanggal 8 July 2013. Pada hari senin 8 July 2013 Apple secara resmi mengumumkan bahwa mereka telah merilis iOS 7 beta 3.

Sistem operasi iOS 7 beta 3 hadir dengan banyak perubahan yang menigkatkan kinerja kerja dari sistem operasi ini. Update iOS 7 ini ditujukan untuk para pengembang Apple iOS. OS ini dapat diupdate secara OTA atau para pengembang dapat mengunduh file IPSW beta yang terbaru, denga situs Developers Portals.

iOS 7 juga melakukan perbaikan lainnya, seperti perbaikan bug yang ditemukan pada beberapa aplikasi dasar iOS yaitu iCloud, AirPlay, serta Messages. Mengenai interface iOS 7 juga terdapat beberapa perbaikan didesain ulang tombol kontrol musik, aplikasi kalender untuk menandai hari yang Anda tandai jadwal khusus, juga meningkatkan performa FaceTime juga Siri.

Rentan waktu yang singkat untuk versi beta iOS 7 membuat banyak orang berspekulasi bahwa Apple akan segera merilis secara resmi iOS 7 pada saat musim gugur nanti.

BlackBerry mulai memberi petunjuk soal kedatangan aplikasi pesan instan BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) untuk perangkat Android dan iPhone.

Dalam rapat laporan keuangan kuartal pertama 2013, Jumat (28/6/2013), CEO BlackBerry Thorsten Heins menyatakan, BBM di Android dan IOS akan dirilis sebelum musim panas berakhir. Namun, ia tak menyebut tanggal pasti peluncuran BBM di kedua platform kompetitornya itu.

Di Kanada, lokasi kantor pusat BlackBerry, musim panas berlangsung mulai Juni hingga November. Waktu musim panas ini tak jauh berbeda dengan beberapa wilayah di Amerika Serikat.

Ini berarti, BBM akan tersedia di Android dan iPhone paling lambat pada Oktober atau November mendatang. Meski demikian, tak menutup kemungkinan pada Agustus atau September. Heins sendiri pernah menjanjikan aplikasi tersebut akan dirilis pada Juli 2013.

BlackBerry telah membuat halaman situs web khusus yang memberi informasi soal kedatangan aplikasi BBM di Android dan iOS. Anda bisa mengunjungi situs web itu. Dengan memasukkan alamat e-mail, Anda akan mendapat informasi kedatangan aplikasi BBM.

Aplikasi BBM bakal bisa berjalan di perangkat dengan sistem operasi iOS versi 6 ke atas dan Android versi 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) ke atas. Pengguna dapat memanfaatkan BBM untuk mengirim pesan teks, foto, voice note, serta membuat grup diskusi berisi 30 kontak.

Pengguna Android dan iOS dapat menambah kontak BBM melalui PIN, e-mail, atau dengan memindai QR code. Pada masa mendatang, BlackBerry berencana memperkaya fitur BBM di Android dan iOS dengan menghadirkan fitur BBM Voice, BBM Video, dan BBM Channel.

BlackBerry mengklaim, BBM kini dipakai oleh 60 juta pengguna aktif bulanan. Lebih dari 51 juta orang menggunakan BBM, rata-rata selama 90 menit per hari. Setiap harinya, ada 10 miliar pesan yang dikirim dan diterima pelanggan BBM. BlackBerry mengklaim jumlah ini dua kali lebih banyak dari pesan yang dikirim dan diterima aplikasi pesan instan lain.
